In the past it has been impossible to use EMV Chip & PIN for payments in many environments, e.g. onboard planes, trains and ferries, because of the lack of network coverage. Samport Onboard is the solution to the problem.
Everything works as usual while the terminal is online; all EMV Chip & PIN transactions are synchronised immediately with the bank via Samport’s Gateway. When the terminal loses coverage, all transactions are instead completed locally on the payment terminal. You can still use secure EMV Chip & PIN transactions and the solution is certified according to Mastercard’s regulations. As soon as the terminal has coverage again, all completed transactions are synchronised via Samport’s Gateway.
